Videoconferencing and Audioconferencing

Along with streaming and design projects, Engineering and Operations also provides video and audio conferencing services for meetings and programs that benefit from real-time collaborative communication.Utilizing the same dual redundant system that supports Old Dominion University's successful TELETECHNET distance learning program, we can also accommodate a wide range of collaborative activities besides distributed education including depositions, interviews, meetings, and dissertation/thesis defenses.We also have a variety of conference rooms and classroom studio to host your events.

Videoconferencing

  • Support for Internet Protocols (ITU standard H.323), ISDN (H.320), and ATM (H.321),
  • Support for high definition graphics (H.239)
  • Videoconferencing to portable and residential systems (via Polycom PVX software codecs)
  • 128 kbps to 2 mbps connection speeds to balance quality and reliability
  • Continuous presence, where all participants are visible on sections of the screen
  • Lecture mode, where video switches to whichever location is speaking (automated video switching),
  • Transrating, or mixing connection speeds, to include high-bandwidth and low band-width participants
  • Transcoding, or mixing connection formats to include locations connecting via ISDN, to Internet and locations with high speed Local Area Networks,

Audioconferencing

  • We can facilitate audio conferences with up to 48 telephone participants
  • Our system is compatible with analog telephone lines, cell phones, VoIP, or ISDN telephone networks
  • 'Audio only' participants can also be included in video conferences
