Frequently Asked Questions About Registration

When does registration open?

  • We offer coursework on a semesterly basis at Old Dominion University.  As a result, we do not have an open registration year-round.  Registration for summer and fall courses begins in late April.  Registration for Spring courses begins in late November.  For more information about registering for courses and deadlines, please visit the Registrar's Office website.

How do I find courses?

  • Old Dominion University utilizes an online program for course registration, LEO Online.  Students can search for classes here.

How do I withdraw/drop a course?

  • This depends on how far along you are in your course.  There is an open enrollment/drop period at the beginning of each semester.  During this time, students can drop a course on LEO Online without any grade/financial penalty.  However, after the add/drop deadlines have passed, the tuition refund lessens.  After the midterm deadline, students cannot drop a class without faculty/department permission.
