MEM Ashore: Tuition Payment and Book Ordering

Tuition Payment
Effective June 1, 2008, the tuition rate is $397.00 per unit of credit.

As of December 5, 2005, the University is no longer mailing paper bills to students. Each student will receive their bill for classes via their ODU student email account. Students should also double check their accounts through Leo Online to ensure payments are posted in a timely manner.

Ashore students are fully responsible for payment of tuition coincident upon receipt of their registration(s). It is the student's responsibility to ensure that their account is paid and that all documents; e.g., tuition aid, GI benefits, etc. are received by the Finance Office in a timely manner. If tuition is not received when due, students may be liable for late fees/penalty fees. Students are encouraged to check their accounts frequently to ensure that all payments are properly posted to their accounts. If there is a problem, the student should contact the Finance Office or Military Distance Learning immediately. For more information, contact the ODU Office of Finance at 757-683-3030. For billing inquiries, the Office of Finance can be reached toll-free at 800-224-1450 or by FAX at 757-683-5407.

All students are issued an Old Dominion University email account upon admission to the University. Administrative offices may send important mail to this address. You must activate your account in order to use it.

Students who wish to pay by check, credit card or money order should view "Payment Instructions" on the Office of Finance MEM Ashore Program page.  For other military financial policy information, visit the Office of Finance Military Related Policies

Students paying by Tuition Assistance (TA) or by Graduate Education Voucher (GEV) should submit authorization forms and any personal payments to:

Office of Finance
Old Dominion University
220 Alfred B. Rollins, Jr. Hall
Norfolk, VA 23529-0046

When completing their TA/GEV applications, students should note the change in tuition rates effective 15 May 2005. For more information, contact the ODU Office of Finance at 757-683-3030. For billing inquiries, the Office of Finance can be reached toll-free at 800-224-1450 or by FAX at 757-683-5407.

Students can pay their tuition costs out-of-pocket (self-pay), by using Tuition Assistance (TA), or by using the Graduate Education Voucher (GEV) program. Eligible students may also use Veterans Affairs Benefits. For information regarding Tuition Assistance, to obtain points of contact for Veterans Affairs, or to reach a Navy College representative, please contact your nearest Navy College Office.

The tuition rate for all students in the Master of Engineering Management CD-ROM program is $397 per unit of credit. Six of the seven MEM CD-ROM course are three units of credit. ENMA 605 is one unit of credit.

Within ODU's Office of the Registrar, the Office of Military Student Services (MSS Office) provides a wide range of information and assistance to active duty students. If you anticipate using VA Benefits, Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB), or have questions concerning how these benefits work, the MSS Office is where you will find the most authoritative answers.

Textbooks
Ordering textbooks and courseware is the responsibility of each individual student. ODU has partnered with the Follett Higher Education Group to provide the textbooks and other course materials for each MEM student.  Once they are registered, students should contact the online bookstore to order textbooks and course materials. The course materials generally consist of the CD-ROMs and course guides. Orders may be placed via the web at www.odudlbooks.com.  Just indicate which courses you are registered for and Follett will ship the materials to the address you specify. Contact the ODU/efollett online bookstore on the web or by phone at:

Students may pay by VISA, Master Card, Discover, or American Express. (Personal checks accepted via phone orders).

The virtual bookstore can be accessed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Used books may be available at a savings of about 25 percent.

Materials are delivered via UPS by one of three methods: Ground, Second Day Air, or Next Day Air. Students pay the current UPS rate based on weight of the package and where the package is being shipped. (FedEx and Priority Mail are also available).

Textbook buyback policies can be found on the website. Efollett will send a check directly to you for the value of any books they purchase from you in buyback.  A prepaid shipping label will be included for your convenience in returning the books for resale.

Currently, efollett is not accepting requests to buy back CD-ROMs and course materials.
