MEM: Exams

The examination procedures for the Masters in Engineering Management program listed below are systematic and are designed to meet the needs of MEM students at sea and ashore.

All exams will be proctored by officially designated non-student personnel.

  • NCPACE Students: Examination materials for students taking courses through NCPACE will be provided to the designated command NCPACE POC by the NCPACE/CTC Representative when students are approved to take courses under NCPACE. MEM exams for NCPACE students are proctored by those designated on each ship/unit course request and delivery order. Completed MEM NCPACE exams must be returned by the command NCPACE POC to the NCPACE/CTC Representative during offload or as otherwise arranged.
  • MEM Ashore: It is the responsibility of MEM Ashore students to identify a proctor, obtain their agreement to proctor exams, and submit a proctor request. Authorized proctors may include faculty members, university/college testing center staff, or military education center employees. This section contains a downloadable Proctor Request Form. To order exams, this form should be completed by student and proctor, and mailed or faxed to the specified Old Dominion University address/fax number. ODU will mail examinations to the proctor once the Proctor Request Form is received.

When students are ready to take an examination, they should contact their proctor to schedule the exam. Completed MEM NCPACE exams must be returned by the command NCPACE POC to the NCPACE/CTC Representative during offload or as otherwise arranged. MEM Ashore proctors will be provided instructions to administer the tests and exams and return them to ODU. Students are not to return their own examinations to the University for grading. The return mailing address will be provided to the proctors with their instruction letter. Proctors are encouraged to make a copy of all exam materials in the unlikely event that these materials are misplaced or misrouted. MEM Ashore materials to be graded should be mailed directly and by traceable mail to the address provided.
