Ships@Sea: Ordering Books & Course Materials
Textbooks
Textbooks and courseware are available for purchase from NCPACE at time of registration. Students who are unable to purchase their course materials during the registration process should contact their command NCPACE Point of Contact/ESO for guidance in procuring their books. Generally books and courseware can be ordered via the NCPACE contractor or through the Missouri Book Store (MBS). Orders to MBS may be placed by phone or via the web. Indicate appropriate course(s) and MBS will ship materials to the address specified by the student. Contact information for MBS is as follows:
Students may pay by credit card (VISA, Master Card, Discover, or American Express). Personal checks are accepted with phone orders. The MBS virtual bookstore can be accessed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Used books may be available through MBS at a savings of about 25 percent. Materials are normally delivered via UPS by one of three methods: Ground, Second Day Air, or Next Day Air. Students pay the current UPS rate based on weight of the package and where the package is being shipped. (FedEx and Priority Mail are also available). Students should note that UPS and FedEx do not ship to FPO addresses. MBS Direct will allow sailor-students enrolled in ODU courses in the Ships at Sea program 45 days from class start date to return course materials for a full refund. Students in close proximity to the main campus can purchase textbooks from the University book bookstore.
