Ph.D. In Education, Occupational and Technical Studies Offered Through Distance Learning

Old Dominion University will begin offering its Ph.D. in Education-Occupational and Technical Studies (OTS) through distance learning technologies in the fall 2006 semester. Through three areas of emphasis, Human Resources - Training, Career and Technical Education, and Technology Education, the program provides advanced graduate study for human resources and training professionals, as well as for those engaged in technical teacher education.

Program Details
Consisting of 60 semester hours of graduate credit beyond the MS degree, the Ph.D. in Education-OTS enables graduates to learn and apply their knowledge to many of today's most complex educational environments and to emerge as leaders in their chosen careers. Graduates will be prepared for corporate training, university, school system, government, and other related positions, developing expertise in designing and delivering training and educational programs based upon Standards for Technological Literacy. Prerequisites are a master's degree in an appropriate and related field. The program is not cohort-based, allowing more flexibility in course selection and sequencing - a major benefit to distance learning students.
