Online Computer Science Program
The minor in computer science provides you with a fundamental understanding of the computer and the basics of the development of computer applications.
Not all online computer science programs are equal when it comes to curriculum. ODU's program is scientifcally and mathematically intensive in order to produce qualified and talented graduates.
- Introduction to Computing I & II;
- Introduction to UNIX/Linus;
- Advanced Data Structures, or Advanced Object Oriented Programming and Design;
- and two upper level CS electives.

This minor can only be completed as part of an undergraduate degree from ODU. You will need to be accepted into ODU as an undergraduate degree-seeking student.
All ODU undergraduate distance learning programs are degree completion / transfer programs.
Courses are offered in these technologies:
Online Asynchronous: Access course materials online from any location. These courses require little to no synchronous (same-time) scheduled class meetings, but assignments and exams are scheduled by the instructor. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.
Online synchronous: Access course material online from any location and participate in live, regularly scheduled online class meetings.
