This online program is designed for both new and current health professionals. Our courses will prepare you to enhance the delivery of health services through healthcare management and policy education.

For current healthcare professionals, this program offers an education that builds on your expertise and experience. Prepare for management in a health care agency, or gain the expertise you need to establish your professional business.

New to the health sciences field? This program will build your knowledge and abilities to lead in a variety of health care settings.

When you graduate, you will earn a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a major in health services administration. ODU's program is one of fewer than 50 undergraduate healthcare administration programs in America certified by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration. Are you in the military? This program is designed to offer upper-division (jr./sr. level) advanced educational experiences to Navy Hospital Corpsman who are at an E4 level or higher. Students with related health training from other Armed Services are also eligible.

  • To earn a bachelor's degree from ODU, you must complete at least 30 credit hours with us. A complete bachelor's program requires 120 total credit hours.

    If you are seeking entry to the health sciences field, you must complete 12 credit hours of prerequisites before applying for admission to this BSHS program.

    Talk with our enrollment team to determine how your credits will transfer. The sample curriculum can serve as a guide for planning your course of study.

  • Access course materials online from any location. Some classes will have regular online meeting times, while others will not. The instructor may schedule assignments and exams at specific times. This program also requires a practicum or internship. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.
