Education for both current and upcoming health professionals.
For current health professionals, this program offers an advanced educational experience that builds on your expertise. The concentration in Health Services Administration will prepare you to be an effective middle or upper level manager in a health care agency or to establish your professional business.
Seeking to enter the health sciences field? This program will build your knowledge and abilities to function in inpatient hospitals, ambulatory clinics, wellness & fitness centers, physician practices, skilled nursing centers, retirement communities, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, public health departments, and community health centers.
Are you in the military?
This program is designed to offer upper-division (jr./sr. level) advanced educational experiences to Navy Hospital Corpsman who are at an E4 level or higher. Students with related health training from other Armed Services are also eligible.

If you are seeking entry to the health sciences field, you are required to complete 12 credit hours of prerequisites before applying for admission to the BSHS program. See the curriculum sheet for additional details.
All students must complete an internship and an electronic portfolio.
Courses in this program may be offered in these technologies:
Online synchronous: Access course material online from any location and participate in live, regularly scheduled online class meetings.
Online Asynchronous: Access course materials online from any location. These courses require little to no synchronous (same-time) scheduled class meetings, but assignments and exams are scheduled by the instructor. All courses follow ODU's regular academic calendar.
Practicum / Internship: A practicum or internship is a required part of this program.
