MET - Manufacturing Systems & Mechanical System Design (BSET)

Degree: Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology Cost: $285 per credit hour *
Frank Batten College of Engineering & Technology: Department of Engineering Technology Required: 61 credit hours from ODU (at least 128 total)
Course Delivery Modes: SatelliteAttend class at a site for a live streamed course where the students and instructor can talk to each other., Video streamView & participate in streamed classes online over a high-speed Internet connection from any location. May be live or archived. Locations: 30

Overview

The Mechanical Engineering Technology program has two areas of concentration:

  • Manufacturing Systems, which includes robotics and computer integrated manufacturing , and
  • Mechanical System Design, which provides skills in designing, building and installing mechanical systems of all types from thermal and a/c systems to production equipment and power systems.

Students must select a minor from the College of Engineering and Technology or the College of Sciences.

ODU's Mechanical Engineering Technology program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET).
