As a mechanical engineering technology (MET) student at ODU, you will take courses in areas such as computer-aided drafting, statistics, strength of materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, automation and controls, and computer solid modeling.

This online mechanical engineering technology program includes a minor in engineering or science and a senior project.

When you graduate, you will earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with a major in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

ODU's Mechanical Engineering Technology program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET, www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Mechanical Engineering Technology Program Criteria.

Graduates are eligible to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. This is the first step to licensure as a professional engineer in Virginia and many other states.
