MPH - Global Environmental Health

In ODU's Master of Public Health program, you will develop skills in applied public health research, data management, community health improvement, and environmental interventions.

Our MPH concentration in Global Environmental Health focuses on health challenges in the U.S. and worldwide. You will study a broad range of 21st century public health issues such as:

  • food safety and foodborne illnesses
  • air and water quality
  • hazardous materials
  • disaster preparedness
  • risk assessment
  • sea level rise
  • climate change
  • environmental health policy

You can also earn a graduate certificate in Global Health concurrently with your MPH degree.

Global Environmental Health scientists and professionals work with international organizations to address global environmental health agendas.

MPH graduates with global environmental health knowledge and skills may hold positions of influence as educators, organization leaders, and advocates. They are employed by:

  • the uniformed services
  • not-for-profit public and private industry
  • community health organizations
  • health systems
