J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College Employee Winfree is a Winner

Valerie Winfree, an ODU student and a database designer at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College graduated in May with a bachelor's degree from Old Dominion in Occupational & Technical Studies and a second degree from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Social Sciences. Winfree, who is entering the master's program in OTED, is visually impaired but has not let that stop her from achieving her goals. She walks with the assistance of a cane and uses visual aid software to operate computers. She currently serves as an advocate for students with vision disabilities and encourages others to pursue higher education.
